Financial Advice Fees Explained

Understanding financial advice fees and how we are paid

Are we a fee-only financial adviser?

Macarthur Wealth Management charges agreed advice fees for financial planning services. We do not receive commissions or trailing payments from investment or superannuation product providers for recommending those products.

However, where life insurance advice results in a policy being issued, Golden Oak Wealth Advisers Pty Ltd and its advisers may receive a commission from the insurer. For this reason, we do not describe our services as fee-only, independent, impartial or unbiased.

Before you proceed, the scope of advice, professional fees and any potential insurance commission are explained to you. If personal advice is provided, the Statement of Advice sets out the recommendations, costs, benefits, risks and alternatives so you can make an informed decision.

Our Financial Planning Process

STEP 1

Our first meeting is held to understand your personal needs and objectives. This initial discussion helps us understand your goals and determine the appropriate scope of advice. The purpose of the appointment is to identify your goals and get an understanding of what you’re looking to get out of advice. This typically takes between 30 minutes to 1 hour. Appointments may be conducted in our Parramatta office, over the phone or video conference. Should you wish to proceed with preparing a financial plan then a quote is provided. Our fees are competitively priced in the marketplace.

STEP 2

In the second meeting, the financial strategy begins to take shape. At this point you will gain a good grasp of what options may be available to you and decide on the best course of action. After this meeting a formal Statement of Advice is produced where all recommendations are provided in writing.

STEP 3

After reading the Statement of Advice you may have follow up questions which the adviser is available to answer. When you’re happy to proceed, the adviser will assist with the implementation of the recommendations and complete the necessary paperwork to put the strategy in place.

STEP 4

Ongoing reviews are crucial to ensure your strategy remains relevant and to make adjustments to your financial plan in light of changes to your circumstances, legislation or investments markets. Ongoing reviews will help ensure you remain on track to meeting your financial goals.
Why Choose Macarthur Wealth Management

Transparent fees and direct adviser access

Macarthur Wealth Management is a boutique financial planning practice. Mohammad Hussein CFP® provides advice under Golden Oak Wealth Advisers Pty Ltd and is not owned by a superannuation fund, bank or investment product provider.

Advice fees are quoted before work begins and are based on the agreed scope and complexity of the advice. You receive direct access to your financial planner throughout the advice and implementation process.

We do not receive investment or superannuation product commissions. Insurance commissions may apply where life insurance advice results in a policy being issued, and these amounts are disclosed to you.

Where specialist legal, tax or accounting advice is required, we can coordinate with your existing professional or another appropriately qualified adviser.
